a Marshmallow World in the Winter

Good Evening!  I’m sure you are waiting on another post about the Farmer’s Wife…she’s not finished yet…so many quilts…so little time!  She is on the pile, and when I get her finished up i’ll pop back in with pics…I promise.

**********

a Marshmallow Christmas

Step through the doors and you will greeted with not just 1 but 7 decorated trees.

The first of which brings you back in time…to Fezziwig’s party in The Christmas Carol (i prefer the 1984 version with George C. Scott and Ignorance and Want).

Fezziwig’s Golden Christmas…strewn with gold, Old Christmas red, and Old Christmas green…this tree adds the right amount of classic-ness to the pillow strewn davenport.  I love the gold and how it pops against the French General fabrics.

Vintage Christmas…our 30’s section this year dons a sweet little tree featuring vintage crocheted potholders.  A most perfect way to add a little whimsy to the space…plus i get to actually do something with them other than tack them to the flannel board…win win!

Christmas in Kansas…this was our Thanksgiving table display and has now become a cozy Christmas table.  Kansas Troubles features warm cozy tones making them perfect for autumn through Easter.  (i spy Libby Morgan…i am working on finishing up my current novel then will dive into Libby Morgan…so excited to do some hexie fussy-cutting!)

A sweet little tree…perfect for displaying your Christmas cards.  we printed vintage postcards and used clothespins.  it is subtle and sweet and doesn’t distract from the Brazilian embroidery and cross stitch projects that surround it.

Star Spangled Season

i truly fell in love with our Patriotic tree last year (or was it the year before…either way, i loved it!)  it also gets some of our vintage quilt tops out so we can enjoy them.

Smoky Tones of Winter

Quill is jam!  The smoky violet, sea, parchment, and mauve blend magnificently with our grey Merry Christmas pillow and the cross stitched My Pink Rose.  Mom whipped up a Spookyville with it which i will get on the machine next week.

Christmas with Brenda (Riddle)…i am loving Brenda’s newest collection, Caroline.  The colors, that oatmeal is to die for!!  it blends seamlessly with past collections and is my new favorite!  the bundle on the bottom right is High Tea Christmas by Jera Brandvig of Quilting in the Rain…Jera’s colors are absolutely wonderful…we love mixing Jera and Brenda’s fabric together!

a very figgy Christmas…that bundle on the right…um…yummy!  luscious apple green, pomegranate red, and creamy vanilla backgrounds…scrumptious!

Blue Christmas…(one of my favorite Christmas songs…especially the version sung by Elvis).  Blue is my favorite color and always a crowd favorite.  We mixed some of our favorite grey quilts with some classic blue wintery pillows…

Marshmallow World in the Winter…this is probably my favorite tree…dripping with lace, fringe, and creamy, sparkly accents it is the perfect tree to coordinate with our cupboard brimming with creamy shirtings.
