good afternoon! it’s a hot one today…hopefully you are stitching some place cool!
we are doing some machine quilting while working on a Christmas Beachy (cannot wait to finish this up…it is going to be so pretty…it will feature Merry Little Christmas Wovens by Bonnie & Camille…but more on that later)!
Today we are talking about Swatch.
This quilt uses the lovely Cottage Linen Closet collection by Brenda Riddle…this is her newest range which features linen white, pebble, sprout, rose, and sea glass.
The blocks were inspired by the swatch pages of the Moda catalog that we use for ordering. We loved how it used all 27 prints between the 2 layouts…we love it when a plan comes together.
We debated on our go-to Bella white…but thought we would change it up a little and chose to use a Bella Feather instead. I love how it frames the blocks without overpowering them…it also goes well with the large pebble floral.
The ruffle was a last minute choice and i’m glad we did it…i can imagine this quilt piled with squishy pillows…a perfect place to relax after a long day…

that’s all i have for today…our new Summer in the Garden featuring Lexington is hot off the presses and now for some kitting up…our new Chic Escape quilt, Sugarshack, just needs binding and the pattern needs to be written up and proofed…then we can introduce her as well…all in good time…
