good morning! hopefully you found a moment to work on a little stitching…maybe even a little Christmas stitching…i found a little bit of time to work on some Christmas embroidery. i do wish the days were a little cooler; i love being cozy while stitching.
we are already a third of the way through our 12 days…also crazy!

fussy cutting Christmas…generally i don’t care to fussy cut. i LOVE how it looks…the amazing designs that appear when you fussy cut are endless and amazing. i have a hard time making my fabric into Swiss cheese plus i think there is a fair amount of fabric waste. now that being said…i will fussy cut…especially when i am draw to specific prints and can see them kaleidoscope in my head.
an instagram account i follow posted a picture of 6 hexagon flowers…separated by the single white hexie and i was hooked…i truly could not think of anything else. i reached out to her…expressing how i would love to take that idea and run with it as a quilt. she told me to run with it. Her project has since morphed into a glorious mixture of fussy cut hexies. i stuck with fussy cut flowers…
Sugared Hexagons uses 1 inch hexies (my ALL TIME favorite hexagon size) and loads of Christmas prints.

i’m thinking about 99% of the flowers are fussy cut…each one look like its own little snowflake…i have put together kits featuring 32 Christmas prints plus the white solid…this will give you a very good start and depending upon how much fussy cutting you’d like to to do…there could be enough to stitch up the entire kit. otherwise, we have great new prints that would work wonderfully for fussy cutting. you can grab our exclusive kit here.
we also do a little ribbon embroidery…and i mean a little…i’ve only done one project over Easter Weekend several years ago…but it was fun and at some point i’m going to work on another project…all in good time. i, however, had to add these delightful velvet acorns to our ribbon embroidery offerings. MaryJo has the best color combos and the instructions are amazing…especially for beginners. The kits are all inclusive…meaning all you need is a little filler otherwise everything is included. i can just see these sweet acorns hanging on a tree or pilled in a dough bowl with other Christmas offerings.

you can check out the Velvet Acorns here. we also have an autumn acorn kit…dusky colors reminiscent of a Hocus Pocus inspired Salem…if you are interested.
now it is off to do some kit cutting and order packing.
happy monday and happy stitching!
