good afternoon!
thought i would pop in and introduce our newest collection…Buttercup & Slate.
Corey describes this collection as follows…
“With Buttercup & Slate, I invite you to relish those magical, fleeting moments when the warm sunny hues of late afternoon fade to gray and slowly turn to night.
There are plenty of flowers, both large and small, to bring colors of the sun into your home, the prettiest little starry night print will remind you to step outside and gaze into the night sky. Honeycombs invite us to savor the sweetness of each day. This collection includes a beautiful Grandmother’s Flower Garden print filled with some of my favorite prints, both old and new.”
I love this collection…i love the soft yellows and the old greens. it truly is an autumn palette…definitely not the traditional rust, olive, gold, and burgundy that we usually associate with autumn. this year i decided to pay more attention to the actual colors…not just the corals, hot pinks, and deep fiery rose that i am drawn to. The actual colors of early fall just as the air starts to chill, the corn starts to dry, and the leaves are just starting to turn. It was in these early days of autumn that the lovely golden yellow, a not-fresh green, dark grey, and cream make their appearance. So while Buttercup & Slate isn’t what we think of as traditional…it definitely fits the season.
We’ve taken the Grandmother’s Flower Garden print and quilted it up…what a perfect table cloth or small porch throw it makes. Pair with some ghost pumpkins and you are set for a not-so-spooky but equally classic autumn/Halloween look.
i didn’t have any ghost pumpkins handy…so i opted for some homemade heirloom pumpkins with real stems.

buttercup & slate is available now…we have the entire collection as well as the precuts…you can find it here.
if you want to whip up our Buttercup Hexie Cheater Quilt…the kit is available now…you can find it here.
interested in making your own heirloom pumpkins…the bundle of wovens can be found here.
