sparklers

hopefully you are loving this hot spring day…i prefer it a little cooler. Mom loves these warmer days and is spending it planting up all the flowers we got her on mother’s day.

**fun fact…mom and dad used to own and operate a greenhouse…so every mother’s day was spent working. now we take mom the greenhouse. it is fun being on the other end of the transplanting!**

anyways…today i thought i would share a new project mom has had finished for a couple weeks already…crazy how time flies!

Sparklers…our newest patriotic project. It combines a classic single Irish chain with some floating sawtooth stars. we opted for white centers to keep with the light and airy feel of the quilt. we were going for a vintage feel with the scrappiness and the low volume. It is quickly becoming a new favorite. Measuring just 81 x 81 inches…it is simply delightful!

Sparklers uses our favorite bella white along with a combination of American Beauty by Robyn Pandolph and Sweet Liberty by Brenda Riddle. Both designers are at the top of our favorites list. The collections are both somewhat patriotic so it was nice once they had both arrived so we could mix and match and come up with the ultimate curated collection of prints. We used a combination of both collections picking our favorite red, white, blue, tan, and pink prints…we left out the American Beauty greens.

we have Sparklers kitted with the prints, background, and pattern…you can find it here.

now gabbs and i are headed on home…i’ve finished up my Lucy’s Sweet Sixteen…now just for some pattern writing. then onto one of the other projects i’ve started…i’m thinking Star-A-Day…we’ll see.

happy stitching!
