looks like summer has arrived! the lilacs are blooming, the trees are filling with leaves and the farmers market has started. i’m looking forward to some rhubarb crisp one of these days.
Memorial Day is just around the corner (heads up we are closed Memorial Day) however, we always put out the bunting and the flags and toss a Patriotic quilt over the porch swing.
I thought today would be a good day to introduce Patriotic Chintz. This delightful large throw uses a mixture of Minick and Simpson collections…low volumes, blues, tans, and pink. We stayed away from deep reds so it would have a faded, sun-washed feel to it. Simple and Classic half-square triangles make up the main part of the quilt and bring to mind a field of pinwheels. A soothing white border and scrappy binding keep your eye on the center. the size 65 x 74 inches makes it perfect to drape over your white chenille bedspread or over a railing for a sweet touch of patriotism.

i just love the smattering of pink. it turned out so sweet!

we have Patriotic Chintz kitted…the kits include a mixture of Minick and Simpson prints from various collections…including Portsmouth, Northport, Mackinaw Island, and Harbor Springs. Grab a kit here. Please keep in mind that collections featured in the original quilt are out of print…we have come upon several identical kits when we were doing a little spring cleaning.
cheers to spring cleaning!
happy stitching!
