while i was working on the Avalon Quilt…i loved that i could finish it up in a week. i only English paper piece and i go a long time between finishes. so it was nice to go from start to finish in not much time.
i’m always drawn to the quilts inspired by Lucy Boston’s Patchwork of the Crosses…whether they change the layout, the block size, or even just opt to make it smaller. the fussy cutting that some quilters do is breathtaking! i had been wanting to make something out of the Sense and Sensibility collection for a while and thought it would be perfect fussy cut with the At Home collection.
Generally i do not care to fussy cut…i think it wastes too much fabric…HOWEVER, i thought the florals in Jane Austen’s collection would be fun to fussy cut especially since the honeycombs are supersized. it would give the block and the fabrics a whole new life.
