happy saturday!

mom and i are on our way to wisconsin to do a little shop hopping. tina, dad, gabby, and daizy are taking care of the shoppe…so i’m sure they are having lots of fun!

i thought i better officially reveal the Star-A-Day quilt. I used 3 different prints in each star…so this quilt has over 1000 different prints in it. i always say that the more different prints you have in a quilt the better and this definitely has variety.

the washed out block…

the green in the green/pink star below is my all time favorite print! i drop a bit of it in every civil war quilt i make.

love the low volume star with the darker background.

i quilted it with a the pipeline design with parchment thread.

***the goal is to do a star a day for a year…it took me 3+ years to finish…but definitely a finish that i have been looking forward to for a couple months. it was very rewarding to pull it out of the dryer and drape it over the railing.***

you can start your own star-a-day…we have have pattern/paper packs here…if you are thinking civil war…we have color bundles here…and shirting bundles here.

***

i’ve already moved on to my next project…a 30’s grandmother’s flower garden that i started when we opened the shop…18 years ago. always something to stitch!

***

have a wonderful weekend!
