wow…Christmas came and went pretty quickly and now we are nearing the end of the In Between. apparently there are several names for the week between Christmas and New Year’s. both weeks are broken up, and given our routines i always have a hard time remembering that we are not coming off a weekend…but that in fact it is the rest of the week…i kept thinking that last thursday was monday and i’m sure it will happen this week as well.
like every year, however, the trees come down right after Christmas and are now packed away for another year. the backroom has been reorganized so we have a little more room and all the holiday décor is sorted, marked, and findable. it is so clean and tidy i can leave the step stool open so any stray holiday décor can go directly in a box. (outside the storeroom though is 4 deep and 3 high of baskets, totes, and crates that need to be gone through…all in good time!)
we always do a big rearrange after Christmas…after nearly 2 months of the same displays we are ready to change around a few things.
a Americana/Patriotic section is coming soon! are you as excited as i am?! right now we have several collections that we are planning to combine to create a patriotic section including American Gatherings, American Beauty, and all things Minick and Simpson. French General is staying put so it will accent it as well! it will be the first time ever we’ve had a dedicated space for Americana. we picked up our new cupboard and it fits the spot perfectly. it is a buttermilk color an definitely has a primitive look to it…i am loving it mixed with our Parade Day, French General Frivol, Sparklers, and Patriotic Chintz. hopefully we can get that spaced sorted out on Thursday so we can start working on the porch.
speaking of Patriotic Chintz…we have lots of Minick and Simpson to cut into kits, with some of the the originals even! though there will be some substitutes, Minick and Simpson never disappoint and they blend wonderfully from collection to collection. Patriotic Chintz kits can be found here.
we’ll also be putting together some new kits of Cottage Hearts…i’ve found a basket full of precut squares and snagged that before we left so i could put together some kits over New Year’s. **be aware that kits of Cottage Hearts are from our scrap baskets so there will be some original prints along with some new fun prints…but…you will receive 16 backgrounds, 14 pink/red, 1 wool, and 1 flannel, a skein of floss, backing, pattern, and heart papers. (the listing has wool color options along with the ability to add on the acrylic templates). Kits can be found here.

mom and i are looking forward to 2025 and cannot wait to show you what we have planned…we just have to get the shoppe sorted so we can get started! first up will be finding a spot for Woof and Warp and Sandalwood which should be shipping any day now.
okay…looks like it is time for an Only Murders in the Building evening binge and some Miss Maudie’s Farm border appliqué.
