happy sunday! i don’t usually do bloggy-ness on sundays. i tend to spend the day stitching and bingeing something new or streaming some Youtube ambiance music (i really like rain and coffee shop jazz).
but with another cold cold day (i love cold winter days, but i totally get it) i thought maybe some flowers would brighten your day.
tina has been hard at work on some new projects for the shoppe. these 2 projects don’t use specific collections. instead a variety of florals were picked for each project. it shows the versatility of the fabrics we curate and i do love quilts that look like grandma put them together with what she had leftover from other quilts, clothing, pillowcases, aprons…you name it. tina and mom is a wonderful job curating these 2 quilts.
***both quilts are new renditions of projects we’ve already had in the shoppe so they may look familiar…lovelier (a remake of the lovely quilt, however, this uses a single print for the cornerstones and binding) and Wildflowers & Ice Cream (exactly the same pattern that was used for a 3 Sisters collection several years ago).
anyways…first up…
lovelier…a combination of white background florals, a minty green, and our favorite bella white. i love low volume prints and these larger florals that are cut up and then pieced into a square give it a collage look which just adds more whimsy to the entire quilt. lovelier is kitted up and ready to go in store or online here. she measures about 63 x 78 inches…so perfect for an early spring evening spent on the porch, or wrap up with it by the fire as you open up the seed catalog and get ready for spring.

and the 2nd project of the day…
Wildflowers & Ice Cream…a combination of white/cream background florals and “dark” florals (which of course just means the background isn’t white). These combine to create a project bursting with flowers. A project that is somewhat modern yet, soft, sweet, and gentle and something your grandma made. She is square at 66 x 66 so it would make a perfect throw, of course, but could also be used on an Easter table or over the railing for sprinf.

we have her kitted up here.
okay…now back to some English Paper Piecing.
happy sunday stitching!
