Not just Quilts

sometimes…we think that fabric must be made into quilts…I know I feel that way sometimes.

So when a new book arrives that is more crafty and quilty…not just quilty it reminds me that fabric can be made into all sorts of fun things.

French Country Chic by Lise Meunier is one of those books.  Full of 40 simple to sew French Homestyle projects this book is packed full of non-quilting, home décor.  So pull out those scraps of gorgeous fabrics that you couldn’t bear to throw out and whip up a small pincushion, pillow, sachet, or journal cover.

If your sewing machine is on the fritz…there are also fun home dec projects featuring paint, modeling clay, cross-stich, embroidery, and hand stitching.

If you are looking to revitalize your entire home…this project book is divided into rooms…the Workshop, the Sitting Room, and the Bedroom.  ( I am truly in love with the Round Cushion.)

If you are looking for a little quilty-ness….I have kitted up our newest version of Hot Cocoa with cottage florals and pastel wool.

happy stitching!  -a*m
